Why this matters.
Every year, preventable incidents on Turnagain Arm fill rescue logs and obituaries. Most share the same root cause: people underestimated the bore, the cold, or the mudflats. This course will not make you ready — only experience can do that. It will make you aware enough to make better decisions on the beach.
This is awareness, not certification.
Completing this course does not qualify you to surf the bore tide. It is designed to improve awareness and decision-making. Always surf with experienced locals or hire a qualified guide.
